On "global free speech" app Parler, Kanye expressed his disappointment over Q-Tip's support of the Jewish community, writing "never meet your heroes."

It looks like Kanye West is regretting his once-friendship with Q-Tip. In an Instagram post from October 24, the A Tribe Called Quest member went to Instagram to side with the Jewish community in the wake of Ye's recent antisemitic remarks.

On Monday (October 31), West (now known as Ye) spoke out against Q-Tip on "global free speech" app Parler (which Ye is set to acquire).

“First one of my heroes Q Tip was mad at Michael Rapaport,” he wrote, referencing Rappaport directing 2011 documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest.

“Then Q tip post this while the #redmedia been trying to destroy my life Never meet your heroes,” he added, with a screenshotted image of Q-Tip's Instagram post. “Red media” is a term that the Yeezy founder has previously used to describe alleged Jewish-run medias that he claims have "teamed up" on him.

The rapper-producer has long been a fan of Q-Tip, even before he broke into the mainstream with his 2004 debut The College Dropout. Q-Tip was previously signed to Ye's G.O.O.D. Music label, although he didn't release any solo material on the imprint. The two last collaborated on ATCQ's 2016 album We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service on "The Killing Season," which also featured Talib Kweli. Consequence, who's cousins with Tip, has also claimed that Ye was supposed to become a fourth member of the group after Phife Dawg's passing in 2016.

Q-Tip previously spoke out against Ye's support of former U.S. president Donald Trump on Bloomberg talk show With All Due Respect in 2016.

“It’s difficult because I love him, that’s my brother,” Q-Tip said at the time. “I reached out to him, and I’m hoping that we just get to talk. I really care about that dude, but his remarks are something that requires he and I having a real serious discussion.”
