Amazon has nabbed a 10-episode straight-to-series order of The Hunt, which will be executive produced by Peele as well as produced by Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment, according to a report from Deadline. David Weil serves as a writer for the forthcoming show as well as an executive producer alongside Peele.
“Our biggest priority is attracting exceptional writing and producing talent to bring addictive, groundbreaking projects to Prime Video,” Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said. “The Hunt is edge-of-your seat entertainment that is not only culturally relevant but deliciously original. David Weil, Jordan Peele, and the entire Monkeypaw and Sonar Entertainment teams represent the dream team! We can’t wait to get started!”
As previously reported, The Hunt “follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters in 1970s America as they set out on a quest for revenge and justice — tracking and killing hundreds of Nazis who, with the unconscionable help of the U.S. government, escaped justice and embedded themselves in American society.”
“When David Weil first shared The Hunt with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved,” Peele said. “It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.”
The Hunt doesn’t have a release date yet.
