According to Deadline, the Get Out follow-up has blown past initial box office projections, setting an opening weekend record for an original horror film (the second-highest grossing premiere weekend for any original film, ever.) Us stars Lupita Nyong’o, Duke Winston, Tim Heidecker, and Elisabeth Moss. Peele, of course, is in the director’s chair and wrote the film’s script. At the beginning of a third full day in rotation, Us has maintained a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is currently sparking all sorts of feed-dodging debates/conspiracies. On April 1st, Peele’s rebooted Twilight Zone series will debut on CBS, leading some writers to speculate over potential tie-ins to the film.
