Jonathan Majors' Lawyer Releases Alleged Texts From Victim in Assault Incident

The lawyer of Jonathan Majors has released alleged texts where a woman claims fault in the incident that lead to the actor's recent arrest for assault.

A curveball has been thrown in the aftermath of Jonathan Majors being arrested last weekend. Nearly a week after the Creed III actor was arrested by the NYPD, his lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, has released texts to TMZ from the woman involved in the alleged domestic violence incident.

After the altercation, the 33-year-old actor was arrested for misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment, after he and the woman reportedly had an argument in a taxi upon returning home from a Brooklyn bar. NYPD officials were later called to their shared apartment on Saturday (March 25), where they found the woman with visible injuries, including a laceration behind her ear and redness on her face. She was later placed in an area hospital.

Chaudhry claims that the texts were sent by the woman, reportedly Majors' girlfriend, hours after his arrest last Saturday, "admitting that she was the one who used physical force against him." In the texts that Chaudhry says the woman allegedly sent, she claims that she was angered at seeing Majors handcuffed. "Will make sure nothing happens about this. I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone," a message reads.

The one-sided conversation continued a little over three hours later, with the woman explaining that she's pushing for the D.A. to refrain from charging Majors for the incident. Chaudhry says she has shared the texts with law enforcement. On Sunday (March 26), Chaudhry told TMZ that she was working to gather evidence, including video, to dispute the woman's previous claims. In the same report, Chaudhry said the woman recanted her previous accusations towards Majors.

Since the arrest, two industry insiders have also alleged to be aware of abusive behavior from Majors. Director Tim Nikolai wrote on Twitter, "folks at Yale and the broader NYC community have known about him for years. He’s a sociopath and abuser and that is how virtually everyone speaks about him."

A director's assistant, A.B. Allen, confirmed that a February tweet in which he wrote, "There's a particular actor... who in actuality, is a vicious, cruel, abusive human being, both professionally and in his personal life," was referencing Majors. He later deleted the initial Tweet saying, "I read the words 'alleged assault,' in the tweet, figured we were talking about a shoving match outside of a bar or something... Everything I've known about has not been physical."

In light of the recent arrest, the U.S. Army has dropped Majors from their 'Be All You Can Be' advertising campaign, per The Hollywood Reporter. “We are absolutely able to utilize a majority of what we have invested,” Maj. Gen. Alex Fink, head of Army Enterprise Marketing, told the Associated Press. “We think that we’ll have some brand new creative ads in time for the Women’s Final Four on Friday.”
