Jamie Foxx Is Finally Portraying Mike Tyson In A Martin Scorsese-Produced Limited Series

The Mike Tyson series will reportedly "span the whole of Tyson's life."

Looks like Jamie Foxx and Martin Scorsese's long-discussedMike Tyson project is finally happening.

In a report from Variety, it was revealed that Scorsese will be executive producing a biographical limited series titled Tyson, that will "span the whole of Tyson's life." This is different from past reports, where the project was expected to be a biopic.

"I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time," Tyson said, according to the report. "With the recent launch of Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my return to the ring, now feels like the perfect moment. I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains."

Antoine Fuqua will be serving alongside Scorsese as an executive producer, as well as a director. Foxx will also be an executive producer in addition to starring in the series. It is not tied to a network or streaming service yet.

Foxx had spoken on the Tyson project several years back when it was still a biopic. During an interview with Screen Rant, the actor was asked for an update on it, to which he said, "That is a go," and confirmed that Scorsese was still attached to it.

Recently, it was announced that Hulu had ordered an eight-episode series centered on the former boxing champ’s origin story titled Iron Mike. However, Tyson isn't in support of the series, and called for a boycott of the streamer in light of the news.
