The late rapper's wife claims that the owner of a restaurant across the street wants the mural removed.

In 2015, a mural dedicated to rapper Sean Price went up in Crown Heights. Now, it seems as if the mural dedicated to the late Heltah Skeltah member might be facing removal.

On Wednesday, July 10, Price's wife, Bernadette, posted on Facebook claiming that the owner of a restaurant across the street from where the mural is wants it removed.

"So apparently a owner across Kingston ave wants to paint over Sean's Mural. The Artist who painted it caught the other painter painting over the other painting that's next to sean's," she wrote. "He stated the he was told to paint over it claiming that it's a disturbing the attention next to his restaurant which is ACROSS the street."

According to one Facebook user, the owner of a soon-to-be-opened restaurant called Meat allegedly wants the mural painted over.

Another user alleged that the landlord of the building where the mural is was sold to the owners of the restaurant across the street.

Basil Hospitality Group owns Meat, as well as Basil and Bakerie. One user didn't recommend Basil (the restaurant) and wrote a comment about the company being behind the alleged removal of the mural. However, Basil then responded to the comment and claimed it had nothing to do with the mural possibly being painted over.

"The building you are referring to has nothing to do with us. We do not own the building and do not paint over other people's buildings. We are extremely disturbed by the evil rumors that are nothing but pure slander," the comment read.

Since then, the story of the mural's removal was shared by R.A. the Rugged Man.

Okayplayer has reached out to Bernadette and Basil Hospitality Group for comment. Price passed away at the age of 43 in his sleep.
