The Notorious B.I.G.‘s childhome in Brooklyn is now available to rent — if you have $4,000 that is.

The Clinton Hill apartment the rapper once referred to as his “one-room shack” is listed on Compass for a price of $4000 a month as Curbed New York points out.
“The 972-square-foot condo has three bedrooms, one bathroom, office space, hardwood floors, and high ceilings,” Curbed reports. “Even though no pets are allowed in the unit, the four-story prewar building where it’s located has a common roof deck, a garden, laundry room, bike storage, and a barbecue area.”
St. James Place, the street that the building is on, was recently changed to Christopher Wallace Way in honor of the late Brooklyn rapper, thanks to LeRoy McCarthy.
“I’m trying to honor hip-hop in every borough. Moving forward, I’m trying to honor Beastie Boys in Manhattan. That’s pending. Biggie was successful in Brooklyn, Wu-Tang is successful in Staten Island. I initiated the honoring of Phife Dawg in Queens, and that was successful but I’m also really trying to get them to add to that same street pole, ‘A Tribe Called Quest Boulevard,'” McCarthy said in an interview with Okayplayer. “So that’s hopefully in the works. I’m trying to assist the family of Big Pun to have a street named for him in the Bronx.”
The news of Biggie’s childhood home costing so much has received some responses on social media.
Even Ava DuVernay commented on it.
