Hip-Hop Uncovered premieres on February 12 at 10 PM Eastern.

On Tuesday, FX shared the first look at its upcoming documentary series, Hip-Hop Uncovered: The Untold Story of Rap's Most Notorious King Makers. The six-part series premieres on FX February 12, with two episodes premiering at 10 PM each week. Stream the full trailer below.

The documentary tells the untold story of "how America's streets helped shape hip-hop culture from an expression of survival and defiance into music's most dominant genre." The project will feature appearances from industry heavyweights like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Run-DMC, T.I., and more.

In addition to more well-known names, rap industry insiders like Deb Antney, Eugene "Big U" Henley, Jacques "Haitian Jack" Agnant, and Christian "Trick Trick" Mathis will all be participating. These names were major forces behind the rise of MCs like Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, The Game, Nipsey Hussle, Waka Flocka and more.

Hip-Hop Uncovered is executive produced by Jonathan and Simon Chinn from Lightbox, as well as Malcolm Spellman and Rashidi Natara Harper.

"You may not know their names," the creators said in a press release, "but they financed, managed, produced and bridged--they were at the pinnacle of an untold world. On the streets they learned the business of the drug trade. A brutal, unsustainable existence marked by loss, injury and incarceration. Hip hop was a way out. Whatever they learned on the streets, they channeled into making hip hop an undeniable force in music and American culture."

Deb Antney is the former manager of Gucci Mane and her son, Waka Flocka Flame as the CEO of So Icey/Mizay Entertainment. In the trailer, Antney opens up about drug money, hip-hop being a way out, and an incident in particular where she was shot three times.

Hip-Hop Uncovered will be available for streaming on Hulu the day after its broadcast premiere.
