COVID be damned, hip-hop and r&b stars still mustered the strength and brazen carelessness needed to go all-out last night for Halloween. That’s right, not even a global pandemic and the threat of contracting or spreading the virus could stop the Fright Night spirit for celebrity musicians, athletes and entertainers.
Which means a whole lot of make-up artists and costume designers got the eleventh-hour call to pull off something miraculous. The results ranged from genuinely decent to categorically strange to so bad that social media accounts were deleted to duck a thrashing from fans. Jennifer Lopez slipped into a “Material Girl” mood, Lil Nas X went full Barb, The Weeknd transformed into Professor Sherman Klump, Lizzo swooped in as the fly on Mike Pence’s head, Quavo and Saweetie tapped into their inner-outlaw-mutants, and Travis Scott‘s Instagram page disappeared after he unveiled a relentlessly-ridiculed Caped Crusader. This season’s winners, however, are undoubtedly the parents of these young giants with the uncanny Bodega Boys fits.
