In a new poll including 1,639 critics, Sight & Sound has ranked the 100 greatest films of all-time like, Get Out, Moonlight and more.

Some of our favorite films are getting their flowers from BFI's Sight & Sound. The UK website has published its greatest films of all-time list, including Get Out (tied with four other films at #95), Touki Bouki (#66), Daughters of the Dust and Moonlight (both tied at #60) and Do the Right Thing (#24). 1,639 film critics took part in the poll where over multiple viewings, critics analyzed symbolic images, dialogue camera angles and thematic layers.

As one of the few contemporary movies featured on the list, Moonlight released via A24 in September 2016, directed by Barry Jenkins. The film won the Oscar for Best Picture at the 89th Academy Awards in 2017, also earning actor Mahershala Ali the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role with Jenkins and author-playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

One year after Moonlight released, Get Out debuted as actor, comedian and director Jordan Peele's first theatrical release. The film earned Peele the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2018.

"I stopped writing this movie about twenty times because I thought it was impossible," Peele said during his acceptance speech at the 90th Academy Awards. "I thought it wasn't gonna work. I thought no one would ever make this movie. But I kept coming back to it because I knew if someone let me make this movie, that people would hear it, and people would see it."
