A new clip from the CBS This Morning co-anchor was also shown.

Gayle King recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about her interview with R. Kelly. The pair discussed everything from when King met with Kelly 15 minutes before the interview, as well as the viral photo that shows her staring forward intently while the R&B singer stands over her and appears to be yelling.

"I could see him getting more heated. He was upset with me about some of the questions...he was a little irritated," King said of the photo which was taken by her makeup artist. "When I see Robert getting really upset and he stands out of his seat, my initial reaction is 'Oh god, please don't leave, please don't leave, please don't leave.' Because we've seen him storm out of interviews before, so I thought he was gonna do that."

"I decided if I sit there quietly, make eye contact with him...he would know I'm not going anywhere and I'll just wait for you to finish whatever this is and then you'll sit back in the seat. And he did that," King continued.

Elsewhere in the interview, King also addressed the mix-up that occurred on Fox News. During Fox News' The Five show, Jesse Watters had offered kudos to King's interview while also mistaking her for ABC's Robin Roberts.

"Hats off to Gayle King for totally redeeming herself after the [Jussie] Smollett fiasco," Watters says before being corrected by co-host dana Perino.

"That was not Gayle King...Robin Roberts did the Smollett interview," Perino says.

In response to the mix-up, King said that she reached out to Perino via email and told her the following;

"Hi, just wanted to thank you for letting your colleague know that Robin Roberts and I, it was a great compliment, but thank you for letting him know that we’re two different people. And could you let the rest of your colleagues know that all black people do not look alike. Could you please just share that?"

During her appearance, King reportedly also shared an exclusive clip from her Kelly interview where she asks him why he continues to see young women.

"Why do I continue to see women?" Kelly asks, with King responding, "I'm not saying women — you know what I'm talking about."

"I know older women as well," Kelly replies. "I know 43 years old, bodies tight, they cool, I go out with them, I kick it with them. I love women."

In related news, Kelly's lawyer from his 2008 trial recently said that the singer was "guilty as hell," as well as revealed that he took libido-killing shots to suppress his urges.
