Marvel has released the first trailer for its forthcoming Eternals movie. The two-minute trailer offers us a glimpse of the superhero team that makes up the Eternals, including Brian Tyree Henry’s Phastos, Angelina Jolie’s Thena, Kumail Nanjiani’s Kingo, and Salma Hayek’s Ajak.
The trailer also happens to make a reference to the ending of Avengers: Endgame, where Iron Man dies and Captain AmericaPasses his shield on to Sam Wilson as remains in the past to live with Peggy Carter.
“So now that Captain Rogers and Iron Man are both gone, who do you think is gonna lead the Avengers?” Sprite, one of the Eternals, asks the rest of the group during one scene that ends the trailer.
“I could lead them,” Ikaris, the leader of the Eternals, replies, with everyone laughing in response after a moment of silence.
Back in January, Marvel released a synopsis of the film:
Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.
Eternals will be released on November 5 this year. It will be one of four Marvel Cinematic Universe films dropping this year alongside Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
