Both Erykah Badu and Stacey Dash have come to Kanye West's defense after the artist released a string of tweets voicing his support of Donald Trump.

Although Badu didn't speak on West's political preference she did voice her support of the rapper's "free thinking" mentality, taking to Twitter to write the following to him: "that's what u get for using your own brain...u know that's illegal in most states right?"

When someone responded to a fan that supported Badu's comment to West, the singer elaborated further on the remark.

"No baby, Not a matter of a individuals being 'wrong' or 'right.' Perhaps a matter of accepting (& I'm going to stretch & even say 'respecting') the thoughts of others when they are 'different' from YOURS or those of the 'group's,'" she replied. "Something is 'wrong' with that. DIALOGUE vs DEMONIZE."

As for Dash, who recently dropped her congressional bid for California's 44th Congressional District, she supports not only West's "free thinking" mentality but his endorsement of Trump too. In a recent op-ed, Dash criticized the Democratic party while defending West's aligning with Trump.

"Good for Kanye West for standing up to these people. They don't deserve a blank check, and the days of us writing them one during each election year are coming to a close," Dash wrote. "We are not victims or unworthy of our own opinions. We are individuals."

"I am no one's victim, and I never will be. I am off the plantation," Dash continued. "I'm glad to see Kanye West stand up for himself."

After voicing his support of Trump, West has since released a song titled "Ye vs. The People," which finds him rapping about the Republican president.

"I know Obama was Heaven sent, but ever since Trump won, it proved that I could be president," West opens up the song with. He then goes on to rap: "Make America Great Again had a negative reception. I took it, wore it, rocked it gave it a new direction. Added empathy, care and love and affection, and y'all simply questionin' my methods."
