JAY-Z & Nas Remake "Song Cry" on New DJ Khaled Cut "Sorry Not Sorry"

JAY-Z and Nas link for some grown man rap on new Khaled Khaled single.

It's hard to even fathom, but DJ Khaled has released his 12th studio album, Khaled Khaled.

The project features a heavy dose of A-listers. This time around, the lineup includes rap stars like Cardi B (who handed in her verse at the last minute), Megan thee Stallion, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, and DaBaby; R&B standouts like H.E.R. and James Fauntleroy; as well as reggae greats Buju Banton, Capleton, Bounty Killer, and Barrington Levy.

However, the standout on the album is "Sorry Not Sorry" which features Nas, JAY-Z, and James Fauntleroy, with Harmonies by the Hive. The song, which was produced by Khaled, is a remake of JAY-Z' iconic Blueprint song, "Song Cry." Both songs sample Bobby Glenn's "Sounds Like a Love Song." (It's also the second time in recent memory someone flipped that sample, with Drake using it on "When To Say When.")

The song features the two rappers embracing their statues as elder spokesman, with Nas rapping about his Coinbase deal and JAY-Z spitting about Japanese whiskey and intermittent fasting. In the video, we see the two enjoying the good life at a casino.

The two MCs have collaborated on just four tracks together: "Black Republicans" from Nas' Def Jam debut Hip-Hop is Dead, "Success" from JAY-Z's American Gangster album, Ludacris' "I Do it For Hip-Hop," and "BBC" from Magna Carta... Holy Grail. Jay later added a verse to Jeezy's "My President" remix, and many years before, an unreleased Nas verse was added to "Analyze This," a collaboration between Jay, Lord Tariq, and Shaquille O'Neal.
