Watch Dave Chappelle Cover Radiohead’s “Creep” During Foo Fighters Tribute To Late Drummer

Backed by rock band the Foo Fighters, Dave Chappelle covered Radiohead’s 1992 hit “Creep” during the Taylor Hawkins Tribute concert.

Dave Chappelle got into his rock bag last night. On Tuesday (September 27), the comedian was a special guest at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute concert at LA’s Kia Forum. During the event, which honored the late Foo Fighters drummer who died in March, Chappelle took the stage to cover Radiohead’s 1992 hit “Creep” with the band.

This makes the second time Chappelle and Foo Fighters have performed “Creep,” last covering the Pablo Honey single with the band during their Madison Square Garden tour stop last June.

Also taking the stage at the event last night were Miley Cyrus, who joined Foo Fighters and Def Leppard for the latter band’s 1983 hit “Photograph.” Pink also teamed up with Foo Fighters and surviving members of Queen for “Somebody to Love,” reconnecting with the Dave Grohl-led band for “The Pretender” during the show’s finale.

Earlier this month, Chappelle spoke at a Hawkins’ tribute show at London’s Wembley Stadium about interactions between the late drummer and his surviving son, Shane. Chappelle first met the band while hosting Saturday Night Live in November 2020, joining them for their Madison Square Garden concert one year later.

“I’ve seen Taylor be a rockstar many nights but it was my first time seeing him be a dad, and what a cool f****** dad,” Chappelle said. “It was the first time that Dave Grohl and I ever even mentioned the name Kurt Cobain. It was the first time we ever even talked about our love of jazz and go-go music, and Taylor’s son Shane was soaking it all in. He sat there, he asked the best questions – not about fame, always about art.”
