Chris Rock has previously talked about drinking mushroom tea while in attendance for Dave Chappelle‘s socially-distanced comedy shows in Yellow Springs, Ohio. And, apparently, he wasn’t the only guest that partook in drinking the tea, too.
During an appearance on The Ellen Show, Rock talked about the drugs Chappelle’s guests and crew partook in for the shows, saying “There’s a lot of weed — there’s way more weed than anyone should ever have — and there’s a lot of mushrooms.” Rock also explained that Chappelle had a “weed/mushroom” chef who prepared “amazing meals” with both drugs. Apparently, this chef indirectly played a role in Tiffany Haddish shaving her head, with Rock alleging that mushroom tea is the real reason the comedian cut off her hair back in July.
“Tiffany Haddish drank the mushroom tea and cut her hair the next day,” Rock said. “I know she likes to act like, ‘Oooh, Common told me he loved me with no hair.’ No no, it was the mushroom tea talking.” After that, DeGeneres asked Rock if all of the comedians at the shows participated in drinking the tea, to which he replied: “Yeah, man. We’re in a cornfield in a pandemic, what do you got to lose? What are you waiting for?”
Recently, it was announced that Chappelle was canceling his remaining comedy shows over Covid-19 concerns. The latest installment of the series, which was supposed to take place on (September 25), was canceled because one of the recurring performers a part of the series was believed to have contracted the virus. Since then, the series’ remaining four shows have been canceled.
