Dave Chappelle To Host Free Block Party For Dayton Mass Shooting Victims
As many as 20,000 people are expected for the event.
Dave Chappelle is hosting a free block party to support the victims of the recent mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio.
Titled the Gem City Shine (a reference to one of Dayton's nicknames) the benefit concert "will honor the lives lost and to reclaim the community's favorite places to shop, dine and enjoy time with family and friends," according to a Facebook page for the event. It will be taking place August 25.
Local and national entertainment will be featured on a main stage at the event, with performances happening throughout the late afternoon and evening. The lineup for the event has yet to be announced. Tickets to the event, are restricted to residents of Dayton, Ohio, and the surrounding areas. The registration period to get tickets via Ticketmaster has already closed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, an event organizer said as many as 20,000 people are expected for the event.

He received an Emmy for Equanimity in 2018.
