Report: Chris Rock Booed For Telling Sexual Assault Jokes During Stand Up Routine

It was a bad night for Chris Rock

The Comedy Celler is one of the most iconic comedy clubs in New York City. It’s a place where, on any given night, an A-list comedian can pop up and do a set, practicing material he or she had been working on.

Last Thursday night, Chris Rock was that comedian. He made a surprise appearance at the Cellar, and he allegedly performed a set that didn’t go over too well.

According to PageSix, Rock tested out material based on sexual assault. Rock joked he wouldn’t hire a woman because he would be afraid of getting convicted of rape. Rock allegedly said “They cry rape because they want money,”

A person who was there talked to PageSix about the reaction. That person said:

“Nobody was laughing. There were many boos and many women who were telling him he was a sexist pig. Two people got kicked out.”

Rock also joked about Harvey Weinstein, saying “Weinstein fucked with me by trying to have me star in the worst movies of all time.”
