Anderson .Paak is baring his love for The Simpsons on his sleeve. On Sunday (November 20), the Silk Sonic member debuted his tattoo with character Marge Simpson lifting her shirt to reveal her torso replaced by Homer Simpson’s face. In lieu of Marge’s breasts are Homer’s eyes, but the odd tattoo isn’t the first of Paak’s pop culture-dedicated ink.
On Paak’s chest are tattoos depicting soul veterans Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Prince and Miles Davis, while one of his arms bare a clear testament about his posthumous music.
“When I’m gone,” it reads, “please don’t release any posthumous albums or songs with my name attached. Those were just demos and never intended to be heard by the public.”
Fans won’t have to wait too much longer from new music from Paak. Last month, he and producer Knxwledge released new NxWorries’ song “Where I Go” featuring H.E.R.
Paak is will next make his directorial debut in upcoming dramatic comedy K-POPS!, where he’ll star alongside his oldest son, Soul Rasheed. Per Deadline, the film centers “a washed-up musician who travels to Korea to write for K-pop stars, discovering that his long-lost son is set to front one of the country’s hottest new groups.”
“My mom is from Korea but she was adopted so I never knew anything about my Korean heritage until I met my wife. This movie is a reflection on my experience learning about this part of myself alongside my wife and son – and spending even more time with them!,” .Paak said. “I knew this would be something I should write and direct, and Stampede Ventures took a chance and trusted that I could pull this off. I’m excited to bring it to the big screen.”
