These Celebrities Are Hitting the Polls & Encouraging You to Do the Same

Dozens of celebrities are using their platforms to share information about the 2020 election.

Tuesday, November 3rd marks one of the more important Election Days in recent memory, and many members of the entertainment industry are encouraging fans to exercise their rights.

Despite a few shocking endorsements of Donald Trump from artists in recent weeks, the vast majority of music industry figures are endorsing the Democratic ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Some are going beyond the general election and endorsing Senate candidates in their home states.

Here’s a roundup of celebrities who have exercised their right to vote in the 2020 election.

Mahershala Ali

Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali linked up with DJ Scratch, recreating the iconic cover of EPMD’s 1989 album Unfinished Business to tell fans to vote.

2 Chainz

The Atlanta MC spoke and performed at a Joe Biden-Kamala Harris campaign event on Monday. Shortly after, he and his family took pictures with former President Barack Obama. “Some of [y’all] know how jelly I been over the years not meeting Obama,” he wrote, “but that is now history and something to scratch off my bucket list.”

Nia Long

Nia Long celebrated Election Day with her son, who hopped on a flight after numerous mailing delays to vote for the first time.

Maxwell

Grammy-winning vocalist Maxwell made no doubt about where his loyalty lies with a simple tweet.

Kid Cudi

Cleveland MC Kid Cudi posted his sticker, also not hiding who he was voting for. Fortunately, he didn’t endorse his G.O.O.D. Music boss.

T.I.

T.I. is one of a few celebrities endorsing two down-ballot Democratic Senate candidates in Georgia’s 2020 election, Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. “I like [Warnock] as a reverend,” he wrote, “I think he is gonna make a great senator. He’s a fair & honest guy who has a genuine passion for helping the people.”

Killer Mike

In addition to endorsing Warnock and Ossoff, Killer Mike also endorsed a down-ballot referendum (HB344) for tax exemptions for certain charities in-state.

DaBaby

The Charlotte MC partnered with the #NoCap2020 campaign to increase voting turnout in his hometown. He hosted a statewide bus tour, social media program, and events during the early voting period as well. DaBaby will show up at ten different locations in the city. Voters in Charlotte will also be able to get free Lyft rides to the polls using the code VOTEWITHDABABY.

Bun B

The legendary Houston MC encouraged his followers to vote, but also advised them that the work doesn’t stop on election day. “Regardless of who wins,” he wrote, “the real work continues. Whoever is president needs to know that the fight to liberate people of color from their oppression continues on. We won’t stop.”

Diddy

Despite his attempt to create a bipartisan Black political party, Diddy made it clear that he was in favor of voting Donald Trump out this time around.

Common

After performing at Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ campaign event in Philadelphia on Monday, Common hit the polls to encourage a high turnout, thanking poll workers in the process.

Snoop Dogg

The legendary Long Beach MC is one of many celebrities voting for the first time in the 2020 election. He documented his voting experience at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium with Angela Rye.
