Marvel Studios Has Unveiled Deleted Scenes From ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

Four deleted scenes from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been introduced, including “Outside The Scope” and “Daughter of the Border.”

To celebrate the Disney Plus release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, four deleted scenes from the 2022 blockbuster film have been revealed. Beginning Tuesday (January 31), the Ryan Coogler-directed epic will be streaming on Disney Plus, followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD release on February 7. The digital and physical editions will include bonus features including a gag reel, audio commentary from filmmakers and deleted scenes, including “Outside the Scope,” “Anytime, Anywhere,” “Daughter of the Border” and “Upstairs Toilet.”

The latter 3-minute clip reintroduces Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) assisting the Wakandans on a mission before he’s interrupted by a noisy toilet, which helps in finalizing his plan.

In the 2-minute “Daughter of the Border,” Okoye (Danai Gurira) has a talk with her uncle about the future of Wakanda, seemingly in the aftermath of Queen Ramonda’s death.

In an interview with The New York Times last year, Coogler shared that the final version of Wakanda Forever was different from the originally-intended film. The initial version was set to be a “father-son story” first showing that T’Challa missed the first five years of his son, Toussaint’s life due to being blipped by Thanos.

“The first scene was an animated sequence,” Coogler said at the time. “You hear Nakia talking to Toussaint. She says, ‘Tell me what you know about your father.’ You realize that he doesn’t know his dad was the Black Panther. He’s never met him, and Nakia is remarried to a Haitian dude. Then, we cut to reality and it’s the night that everybody comes back from the Blip. You see T’Challa meet the kid for the first time.”

The home release of Wakanda Forever will also have a two featurettes; one titled “Envisioning Two Worlds,” which focuses on the design and scenery of the film, along with “Passing the Mantle,” which focuses on the legacy of Wakanda in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
