Big Meech Pushing for Early Release From Federal Prison Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

His brother, Terry Flenory, will reportedly be released on Tuesday.

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm. In the wake of its devastation, activists are pleading with politicians to assist America’s most vulnerable population–those currently incarcerated.

Detroit News is reporting two high-profile inmates could go home early amidst the pandemic. Terry Flenory, brother of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, will reportedly be released from a Kentucky federal prison on Tuesday. According to the News, Big Meech could join him soon.

United States attorney Dawn Ison doesn’t believe he should. “During his time in prison,” he said in a court filing on Friday, “Flenory continues to promote himself, and through others, his legacy as a highly successful professional drug dealer. Nothing in that promotion suggests that Flenory has changed.”

The Flenory brothers received 30-year sentences in federal prison for their involvement in the infamous Black Mafia Family drug ring. Terry allegedly oversaw operations in Los Angeles, while Meech notoriously controlled the Atlanta drug trade. According to court documents, the Family operated between the years 1990 and 2005.

50 Cent is producing an upcoming cable series about BMF for Starz. Randy Huggins of Power joins 50 as executive producer. Huggins will also write the series. “I told you ‘Black Mafia Family’ was coming,” 50 said in a statement. “It’s going to be the biggest show on television. Meech and Terry are legends and I am excited to bring their story to Starz.”
