Check Out the New Trailer for the Spike Jonze-Directed 'Beastie Boys Story'

The documentary will hit Apple TV+ on April 24.

Apple TV has released the full trailer for its upcoming Beastie Boys documentary. The Spike Jonze-directed Beastie Boys Story will hit IMAX theaters on April 3, before coming to Apple TV+ streaming three weeks later.

The documentary features footage from the archives, as well as a live stage production from 2019. The band tells their story of their ascent in their own words. Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz's memoir originally inspired the stage show. The band also appeared on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to offer another sneak peek at the documentary.

Back in January, Jonze also announced an upcoming photobook with the Beastie Boys. The book, published through Rizzoli, will be available for purchase on March 17. The band also released an audiobook featuring narration from Nas, Talib Kweli, and Chuck D of Public Enemy.

This past August, the group announced vinyl re-issues of three of their finest albums: Paul's Boutique, Ill Communication, and To The 5 Boroughs. The reissuing is in honor of the respective 30th, 25th, and 15th anniversaries of these albums. Just months before that announcement, the band shared 12 previously unreleased tracks. The unheard bonus tracks stem from the To The 5 Boroughs recording sessions.

“There are some friends you have lunch with so many times over the years, you know their order,” band members Mike D and Ad-Rock said in a statement. “Spike is one of those friends. And even when you don’t recognize anything on the menu, he comes up with something good for the whole table. Like when we wondered what to do when our book comes out… then Spike placed his order: You will put on a show for the children.”
