On Wednesday, The Soul Rebels announced their partnership with Grubhub for the company’s Sound Bites concert series. The event includes a star-studded lineup featuring Anderson .Paak, Big Freedia and more. In addition to the concert, stick around for live Q&A sessions with the artists.
The concert is part of a partnership with the Feed the Soul Foundation, a Black-owned organization dedicated to supporting marginalized culinary businesses owners. The show starts at 7 PM ET on February 12th.
Trombone Shorty and Tarriona “Tank” Ball, of Tank and the Bangas, will also perform. With every fan’s comment on the livestream, Grubhub will donate $5 to Feed the Soul (up to $100,000). Tune in to the show via the GrubHub YouTube channel below.
The Soul Rebels have been on a hot streak since they released their Poetry in Motion album. The collective appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s #PlayAtHome concert series. Their new music has been featured on Netflix, ESPN, and other film and television.
The Feed the Soul foundation was founded by Black Restaurant Week, LLC. The group provides an array of services to business owners who are people of color, LGBTQIA+, senior citizens, military combat veterans, hearing, disabled or formerly incarcerated people.
Feed the Soul’s core objectives are to equip marginalized business owners with business development training and a laundry list of consultation services to improve operations. The foundation provides menu consultation, nutritional consultation, marketing and customer service training. Additionally, the group has established a business development grant program providing grants valued at $15,000. The grants provide 3-6 months of training and consultation, a financial stipend, as well as training.
FTS plans to increase access to business resources like funding, technology and programming, support growth and expansion, and invest in workforce training for employees.
