Kanye West Responds to Adidas Saying Their Partnership is "Under Review"

Adidas is placing their partnership with Kanye West "under peer review" after he called out the brand for reportedly plagiarizing his ideas.

Adidas and Kanye West could be cutting ties soon. On Thursday (October 6), the athletic footwear and apparel company announced that it would be conducting a review on their relationship with the Donda 2 rapper-producer.

“After repeated efforts to privately resolve the situation, we have taken the decision to place the partnership under review. We will continue to co-manage the current product during this period,” the company said in a statement.

Catching wind of the announcement through CNBC, Ye responded on Instagram.

The YZY founder has been critical of Adidas in recent time, visiting Good Morning America last month to call out Adidas for allegedly plagiarizing his designs.

“It was all kind of a disregard for the voice of something that I co-created. I co-created the product at Adidas. I co-created the product at Gap,” he said. “That means that I was there for some specific agenda, not for Yeezy Gap to be everything that it could be, or this dream that I had about what the Gap could be,” he said. “It’s time for me to make my own thing.”

Last month, the Chicago native terminated his 10-year contract with Gap, citing "substantial noncompliance" and plans to open his own YZY stores. Earlier this week, Ye held a fashion event during Paris Fashion Week, where he wore a t-shirt with the message 'White Lives Matter,' sending fans and critics in an uproar.
