Action Bronson To Release New Balance “Baklava” 990v6

In 2023, rapper and culinary show host Action Bronson is dropping a New Balance 990v6 multi-color sneaker named “Baklava.”

Action Bronson is going from the stage to the shoe game. On Wednesday (November 23), it was announced that the Queens-born rapper is serving up a New Balance 990v6 collaboration named “Baklava,” an ode to one of Bronson’s many nicknames. Set to release in 2023, the 990v6 sneaker pairs neon green with blue, purple, brown, orange, grey and pink laces with the shoe’s tongue reading “Baklava” instead of the traditional New Balance branding.

The name also references Bronson’s recently-launched digital markerplace Baklava Flea Market, which features an array of art pieces, apparel and memorabilia reflective of the rapper’s multifaceted collection.

Along with his digital flea marking and New Balance collaboration, next for Bronson is his seventh studio album Cocodrillo Turbo, slated to release before the end of 2022. In May, Bronson spoke with Clash Magazine about his upcoming release and venturing into becoming a visual artist.

“For me, it allows me to give you a 100% experience. I’m giving you visual, auditory and like a full spectrum of sensory overload when I give you a project,” he said. ““I’m giving you music, I’m giving you the idea, a thought and actual art painted by this hand. So, I think I started doing my own covers and painting, it’s given me a new fresh outlook. It’s revitalised [sic] and revived me in such a beautiful way. My cup is always filled. Painting is a beautiful thing, it’s therapy.”
