A.J. Calloway Suspended by 'Extra' as Sexual Misconduct Investigation Begins

The Extra host maintains the allegations are falsified and patently untrue.

A.J. Calloway has been suspended from his post at Extra pending the results of an internal investigation into sexual misconduct in the workplace by the multiple women.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (currently preparing a report with even more claims,) Warner Bros. Television announced the suspension in a statement yesterday, revealing that they'd found "nothing to suggest that Mr. Calloway has ever engaged in workplace misconduct," but "in light of additional allegations brought to our attention, we are expanding our ongoing inquiries."

Last year, author and journalist Sil Lai Abramsrevealed in an interview with THR that both Calloway and Russell Simmons had sexually assaulted her, claiming the Def Jam co-founder raped her in 1994 and the former 106 & Park host assaulted her in 2006. Abrams explained that Simmons had apologized years later, while Calloway was actually arrested and charged for forcible touching and sexual misconduct, though the charges were dropped in November of the following year.

In her statement to THR, Calloway's attorney, Lisa E. Davis, claimed "Mr. Calloway maintains that these unsubstantiated allegations are patently false. He vehemently denies that he ever assaulted anyone and looks forward to clearing his name."
