“I’m Out”: 50 Cent Is Ending Longtime Partnership With Starz

After months of tension between Starz and rapper-mogul 50 Cent, the Power executive producer announced he was leaving the network.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Starz are no more. Last Friday (September 16), the rapper-mogul made a social media post celebrating his departure from the premium cable network.

“This is my vibe right now!” he wrote. “STARZ deal done, we had nothing but success so no hard feelings… I’m out. I’ll let you know where we are going shortly.”

The announcement comes seven months after Jackson threatened to pull the Power franchise off Starz.

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ,” Jackson wrote on Instagram at the time. “Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest rated show they have it sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here. you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus.”

Jackson has teased a full transition into G-Unit Film & Television, which has 25 series in production, including Snoop Dogg hip-hop docuseries Murder Was the Case and Hip Hop Homicides, which will premiere on WEtv.

Since co-producing Power with series creator Courtney A. Kempin in 2014, Jackson has continued the drama’s franchise with follow-up shows Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. Jackson also executive produces the Randy Huggins-created series BMF, which began in 2021 and has renewed for a second season.

Aside from his television pursuits, Jackson teased in an Instagram post earlier this year that his next album could be his last.
