Both comedians are nominated for Best Comedy Album for the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Dave Chappelle won his first-ever Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for his two Netflix specials the Heart of Texas and The Age of Spin at the 2018 Grammys, and now he may get another one — unless Chris Rock beats him.

The two comedians are competing for the Best Comedy Album for the 2019 Grammys, with Chappelle's Equanimity & the Bird Revelation going up against Rock's Tamborine. The former's two stand-up specials found him commenting on the #MeToo movement, receiving a letter from a fan about his transgender jokes and more, although headlines focused on those two topics primarily. The latter's stand-up special, which is his first in 10 years, found him speaking on fatherhood, infidelity, race and more. All specials were released on Netflix.

However, Chappelle and Rock may also not come out on the top. They're also competing against Patton Oswalt, Jim Gaffigan, and Fred Armisen.

When Chappelle earned his first-ever Grammy earlier this year he offered a brief speech.

"I am honored to win an award, finally. And I wanted to thank everybody at Netflix, everyone at Saturday Night Live and everyone at Chappelle Show," he said.

The 2019 Grammys take place on February 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will air live on CBS. The nominees list for the 2019 Grammy Awards has been released and a handful of artists have received multiple nominations including Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Childish Gambino, Cardi B, Travis Scott and others.
