The two funny men connect to headline Showtime’s new show about crossing over into mainstream fame.

With fall right around the corner (even though it feels like it’s already here in NYC) — Showtime has unveiled its preview of new comedies coming to the cable network. High on our watch list is the show, White Famous, starring former Saturday Night Live star Jay Pharoah and Jamie Foxx.

The former plays an up-and-coming comedian who is given an opportunity to transition from hole-in-the-wall clubs in the hood to headlining a big, blockbuster picture with Jamie Foxx. Each episode deals with Pharoah’s character attempting to maintain his hood credibility while forces outside of his control try to push him into mainstream recognition.

Funny, full of wit and a couple of NSFW shots, White Famous is the brainchild of Jamie Foxx, who is pulling directly from his own personal experiences. The series will also star Utkarsh Ambudkar, Cleopatra Coleman and Jacob Ming-Trent
