For almost 20 years, Young RJhas been a vital part of hip-hop, working in the shadows. He came up as a producer, doing production for the likes of Slum Village, De La Soul, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and more.

It was only in 2013 when he started getting any real attention when he officially became a member of the iconic, forever evolving group Slum Village. Now he's taking one more step to the spotlight. Young RJ is prepping a solo album.

Now he's taking one more step to the spotlight; Young RJ is prepping a solo album.

The album will be called Blaq RoyalT. The first single from the album was "Huh?!" which sounds like classic Slum Village. The follow-up single is "Wait," which features verses from the legendary Pete Rock and Detroit-native Boldy James.

The song, which Mass Appeal premiered, is fire, with RJ providing a soulful beat that uses Goodie Mobb's "Cell Theory" drums. All three MCs come through lyrically, providing potent verses.

Listen to the track below. And look out for Blaq RoyalT which is coming this summer.
