Funeral features 24 new tracks from the rapper and appearances from Jay Rock, Big Sean, Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, The-Dream, the deceased XXXTENTACION, Takeoff, O.T. Genasis, Maroon 5's Adam Levine, and more. On the production side, Wayne gets help from Mannie Fresh, Jahil Beats, STREETRUNNER, Mike WiLL Made-It, Cool and Dre, Ben Billions, Murda Beatz, and more.

(Interestingly enough, there is not a lot of assistance from the Young Money squad, with the exception of Lil Twist, who appears on "Ball Hard.")

Wayne announced he was releasing Funeral last week. The rapper went to Instagram and posted a snippet of the album's title track, which is also the intro on the album.

Funeral is an album that has been in the works for some years. Back in 2016, when Wayne was still in a label dispute with Baby and Cash Money, the rapper announced the album was in the words during an appearance on The Nine Club podcast. At the time he said:

Just make sure they know that Funeral is coming soon...That’s my music. Get your roses ready. I don’t have a release date, but I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon.

In the summer of 2018, Wayne was finally able to be released from Cash Money. He then dropped Tha Carter V, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and had, at the time, the second-largest streaming week for an album. Clearly Lil Wayne still has it.
