Still grooving to Lafa Taylor‘s “Falling” cut featuring the one, the only Goapele? That’s good to know, but we got another joint to add to your ear’s bar-b.

The title track from his forthcoming album, Ridin’ Slow: A Collection of Songs to Ride to, is making its debut here at Okayplayer. The Mixto Music signee blesses us with his gift of song over this ORDNRY YNGSTR-produced song, which showcases his rich and textured vocals.

“I grew up in a lot of different scenes, but two musical scenes particularly grabbed me in high school. One was electronic music and “raves,” and the other was hip-hop and hip-hop shows,” Lafa told us exclusively via e-mail. “At the time, electronic music in the U.S. was fairly underground. It’s amazing to see not only that electronic music is now widely accepted / on the radio, but also that the hip-hop and R&B scenes are more commingled with EDM these days.”

Having already broke records as part of a collaborative effort with Bassnectar for The Fate and the Furious trailer. And now, with Lafa Taylor ready to make a splash with his first solo EP on deck this summer, “Ridin’ Slow” sounds like the appropriate vibe to have for this growing warm weather.
