Gabriel Garzón-Montano Releases "Sour Mango" + Announces Debut Album

Gabriel Garzon-Montano's stellar debut EP Bishouné: Alma del Huila dropped back in 2014. On it was a track called "6 8." With a drawn out but simple thumping kick and clap, Garzon-Montano's soaring vocals and a slow but beautiful piano melody that effectively creeps upon the listener evoking a raw vulnerability, it caught the attention of the alleged father of champagne, Drake. The song was sped up and sampled by Noah “40” Shebib for the track "Jungle" off the hit mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late helping to propel Garzon-Montano onto the radar of thousands. Gabriel Garzon-Montano, who hails from Brooklyn, NY, is signed to Stones Throw Records. The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist not only dropped a beautiful new song "Sour Mango" but also announced a full length project, his debut LP, Jardin. It'll be released on January 27, 2017. "Sour Mango" was originally recorded during the Bishouné sessions but didn't make the cut. Upon embarking on the recording process for Jardin,Garzon-Montano revisited the track making tweaks that included swapping the pre-programmed drums for live ones. Listen to Gabriel Garzon-Montano's new track "Sour Mango" below and scroll down for tour dates.
