Descendents Share "Who We Are," Proceeds Go To ACLU, SPLC + Planned Parenthood

Written in the aftermath of the presidential election, the Descendents are sharing their new single, “Who We Are,” which should encourage hardcore punk band lovers.

The legendary group returned to raise awareness about the country that we’re living in, plus all the proceeds from those who purchase the song will go to the ACLU, Planned Parenthood and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

A protest song through-and-through, “Who We Are” lashes out at the current administration, and its racist, sexist and anti-immigrant attitudes. By using hope as a message of resistance, Descendents are calling upon listeners to “fight fascism and defend the rights of every woman and man.”

“Who We Are” marks the first effort from the Descendents in 12 years and the band’s seventh studio project since forming in 1978. Hypercaffium Spazzinate was hailed as “a comeback album of blistering proportions,” and “all kinetic energy from its first note to its very last” by The A.V. Club.

Listen as bassist Karl Alvarez, vocalist Milo Aukerman, guitarist Stephen Egerton, and drummer Bill Stevenson get back together to fight the Cheeseface Invasion. Press play on the Spotify player below, and commit those tour dates to memory.
