The visual follows DaBaby's performance during the MTV VMAs.

At midnight on ThursdayDaBabyreleased his video for “Pick Up” featuring Quavo.

The single is off his third studio album Blame It On Baby which featured Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Rich and even an appearance by Ashanti. The release of the video follows his energetic performance during the MTV VMAs earlier this week.

Before he dropped the visual directed by Reel Goats, he teased it over on his Instagram where he shared a clip of himself in space, in the present, and more.  In the clip, viewers are taken through a time capsule after DaBaby’s phone transports him to decades ago with its powerful blue light. What follows is a hilarious segment where he’s seen alongside an arguing couple dressed as if they belong in the Stone Age. The couple actually has phones, which is a bit off-putting. 

Next, DaBaby transports through the space-time continuum and lands in a spacesuit and makes his way towards Earth. This scene is also juxtaposed with a fight between the rapper who shoots someone dressed like Deebo from the cult classic Friday. There’s also a nod to Big Worm in this scene as there’s a character dressed with curling rods sitting in a vintage car. The directors evidently looked to DaBaby’s verse for inspiration for this segment: “If Big Worm would've pulled up, I would've start hitting/If Deebo choked me out, bitch, I would've killed him.”

Quavo makes numerous appearances throughout the clip, but when he raps his verse he’s seen in the warehouse from the beginning of the video. There he exterminates rats and when he’s about to get back in his van, DaBaby lands on top of it in his spacesuit. 

Eventually, Quavo is then left with DaBaby’s phone in his hand, pointing to the premise of the entire video: how hard it is to get someone to pick up the phone.
