Hailing from West London, Estelle has made her name through her signature singing voice along with her ability to bounce between genres including R&B, hip-hop, grime, reggae and others. Born to Senegalese and Grenadian parents, Estelle grew up in a religious household where secular music was not allowed. Eventually, she would showcase her versatility on her debut album The 18th Day in 2004. She would later go on to release her biggest song to date in 2008, “American Boy” featuring Kanye West. The song would go on to win a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and several other awards including three MOBO Awards in the UK. Estelle would later go on to release several other albums and appear on other artist’s records.
Aside from music, Estelle has lent her talents to film and television, and along with voice acting on the Cartoon Network show Steven Universe.
