The French music duo consisting of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter are one of the biggest and most influential acts in electronic music of all time. Formed during the late 1990s in the French house movement, the duo have made their name through their unique brand of electronic music that borrows elements from rock, dance, house and synth pop. The duo is also known for their ornate robot masks and gloves whenever they are out in the public, very rarely doing interviews and making televised appearances.
Daft Punk released their debut album Homework in 1997 to critical and commercial success with the singles “Around The World” and “Da Funk”. The duo’s second album Discovery was even more successful with the singles “One More Time”, “Digital Love”, and “Harder Better Faster Stronger”. After the release of their third album in 2005 Human After All, the duo went on to win a Grammy for their live album Alive 2007 for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
In 2013, the duo released their Random Access Memories album to critical and commercial acclaim. Alongside Pharrell Williams and legendary producer Nile Rogers, Daft Punk released the single “Get Lucky”, which went one to become one of the best-selling digital single of all time. Daft Punk also went on to win several Grammy awards in 2014, including in Album of The Year and Record of The Year.
