Denzel Washington stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his new film Fences and participate in a fun segment. The premise of the segment was simple. Since Washington is such an amazing actor, Jimmy Fallon suggested he read greeting cards but dramatically, utilizing his impeccable acting chops. There is also the addition of music and dimmed lighting which further dramatizes the otherwise mundane greeting cards to hilarious effect. Denzel Washington not only stars in Fences but also directed the picture. The film also features Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley-Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson and Saniyya Sydney. It was recently announced that Washington’s co-star Viola Davis will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at the top of the year. Fences is based on August Wilson‘s Pulitzer Prize winning 1983 play of the same name and takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It follows the story of a waste collector named Troy (played by Washington) as he tries to make ends meet and provide for his family. Fences, which is doing very well in terms of reviews, is currently out in some theaters and will opening wide on Sunday, December 25th.
