In light of Monday night’s raid of NYC’s Zuccotti Park (aka Occupy Wall Street HQ) and on the eve of one of the biggest #Occupy days of action, Q-Tip,–who has always touted the importance of hip-hop in politics and politics in hip-hop–shouts out his solidarity with the #Occupy movement.

But yo, doesn’t NYPD know that the proverbial shiznit is hitting the fan TODAY for #N17 – the International Day of Action for all #Occupies, and that they just turned the fan up to 11 with their brutal tactics? Nice planning, New York’s Finest.

Okayplayer and Okayafrica will be representing down at the protests, and we want you – YES, YOU – to come with. Choose the time and place and action that floats your boat – there are plenty to choose from. It’s gonna be crazy out there what with everyone you know in the streets giving the corruption of Wall Street and the government the finger for selling us so many lies – and selling us out.

In case you need some additional  motivation, check out all the endorsements from these other fine folk: ?uestoKweli, Russell and Kanye, and and even kinda maybe Jay-Z (how to interpret his recent moves to invest/cash in on the movement–doing well by doing good or straight douchebaggery!?).

For all the details for Thursday massive protest actions, check here. And to keep up to date moment-by-moment keep watch on the#N17 twitter feed.

See ya’ll out there and be safe.

Straight douchebaggery. Jay-Z is all about the 1%. All about glorifying the life of the super-rich and dangling over poor people the possibility that maybe one of them might make it there, too.
