New Orleans’ Pell has a highly developed set of skills and a resolute focus. Hear all those things put on display in his new EP, girasoul.

Pell is a triple-threat of an artist. Blessed with the ability to rap, sing and producer, this New Orleans-to-Los Angeles transplant has chased his personal demons away and embraced the sunshine on his newest EP, girasoul. The word which literally means “sunflower,” finds Pell invoking brighter days and flourishing over six tracks.

Featuring Vérité and Saba on the EP, Pell signifies a continual changing of the guard in the game. Being open, vulnerable, evolved and soulful, Pell has directed his energy toward genuine connections and personal interactions. We were blessed to be able to have Pell for THE QUESTIONS on our OKP LIVE Facebook Series, and he was very honest about his upbringing, how he developed his style and showcased a charisma that proves he has star qualities.

Since his 2015 release, LIMBO with TV On the Radio’s Dave Sitek, Pell has learned how to play guitar, keyboard, read sheet music and developed into a pretty solid producer. With the exception of the Rahki-produced “chirpin’” and Imad Royal-produced “throwback,” the girasoul EP was entirely produced by Pell alongside fellow musician Billy Cigarette.

With the Payday Records artist’s album, girasoul, out and available for listening today, Dec. 8, please press play and get all the irie vibes for this weekend. girasoul is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and all streaming services.
