Jay-Z Discusses If He And Kanye West Are Still Friends In New Interview

Throughout the week Netflix has released a number of teasers for Jay-Z's appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman. Now, the streaming service has released another clip, which finds the Brooklyn rapper talking about his relationship with Kanye West.

Letterman goes into the topic by saying to Jay-Z: "Kanye West. Are we friends?"

"That's my brother, we're beyond friends. Really, like literally, my little brother is Kanye," the rapper and entrepreneur responds. "And like your little brother, things happen sometimes."

"Tell me what happened," Letterman quickly replies.

Rather than divulge further Jay asks Letterman if he has siblings and if they've ever had a falling out.

"I'll let you know when it's over," the comedian responds, to which Jay laughs and answers "It's like that. That's still your sibling forever."

"I've watched Kanye from without an album," the 4:44 artist adds. "The thing that I respect about him is that he's the same person. Like, he interrupted our studio session, stood on a table and started rapping. And we were like, 'Could you please get down,' and he was like 'No, I'm the savior of Chicago!' He didn't have a record."

Prior to this, Jay had spoken about his relationship with West on the Rap Radar Podcast.

"What really hurt me was, you can't bring my wife and my kids into it…Like, Kanye is my little brother. He's talked about me a hundred times. He even made a song called 'Big Brother," the rapper said. "We've gotten past bigger issues. But you brought my family into it, now it's a problem…You know it's a problem because me and him would have been talked about it, been resolved our issues. And he knows crossed the line. He knows. And I know he knows."
