Freddie Gibbs Announces 'You Only Live 2wice' Project, Shares Introspective Single "Crushed Glass"
Let us all rejoice, the return of Freddie Gibbs is nigh. Sparing all of the biblical talk (and imagery, above,) the Gary, IN rapper is, in fact, back with a new video today, sharing a desert-clad clip for the lead-off single "Crushed Glass." He's also announced a forthcoming eight-track project, You Only Live 2wice will be released on March 21st.
The tape's announcement follows the rapper's acquittal in a sexual assault case in fall of 2016. Recently he's been featured on tracks with Saga and Thelonious Martin, as well as The Avalanches. Gibbs has also shared the singles "All Day" and "Overtime," neither of which are included on the You Only Live 2wice track list (below.) Jump back to hear those. Jury's still out on when/if we'll get a follow-up to his classic, Pinata, with Madlib, but if there were ever a year, 2017 appears to be it.
