Declaime & Saul Williams Combat Police Brutality With "Cops Still Ain't Sh*t" Music Video

Declaime and Saul Williams are here to remind us that "cops still ain't shit."

West Coast hip-hop and funk maverick, Declaime is back with a powerful Sims-inspired music video for his latest track, “Cops Ain’t Shit.”

The artist, née Dudley Perkins, teamed up with Saul Williams, wife Georgia Anne Muldrow, daughter Ms. Dezy and son Riley Fresh for the anti-police brutality anthem.

The artists create the song in the wake of Ferguson teen Mike Brown's murder in 2014. Now, the video, created by SomeOthaShip Connect and animator Oji, comes in the wake of yet another fatal shooting of an unarmed black person by the hands of law enforcement. The video was released shortly after Stephon Clark was gunned down by Sacramento police officers this week.

The track stands even more poignant this week as news emerges that the Baton Rouge cops who shot and killed Alton Sterling will not be charged in his murder.

“Cops Ain’t Shit” is a standout track from Declaime's latest album, Young Spirit produced by Muldrow and longtime collaborator Madlib. The project was released last year and featured appearances from Saul Williams, Aloe Blacc, and Blu.
