Okayplayer and Okayafrica have joined forces with Converse Rubber Tracks to bring you Player Xchange, a new monthly video series where our squad links up artists from Africa with emerging homegrown artists to collaborate on a track. Our team is always excited to bring our adoring fans the very latest in new music – including brewing some magic up ourselves once in awhile. Every month, the two selected artists will record their work in the Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn, with the result being a behind-the-scenes video and a free download hosted by Converse. The first installment of the series has just dropped, and features Nigerian pop artist Bez working with Brooklyn-bred rapper/producer Sene on a track called “Big Promises,” featuring production by Basement Batman.
