The Weeknd‘s House of Balloons contains some of the best songs I’ve heard all year (I personally can’t say the same for Thursday), so I’m glad to see it he took it back to HOB to release this new video “The Knowing.” Even better news is that he let director Mikael Colombu take the reigns for the visuals (this dude does amazing work). So what we end up with is a great song with a far (read: faaaar) out there video live from planet Ethio X set in 16311 A.D. Check the vid above and interpret it as you will.

Pre-eminent purveyor of visual craziness Mikael Colombu just unveiled this short tribute to the late great J Dilla, a micro-video for his “Bus-A-Yo/Look Into her Eyes” beat (and maybe a subliminal entry into this Dilla fan video contest?). Certainly sums up how we feel about Dilla around here. Meanwhile, back at the ostrich farm, Colombu is obviously keeping busy making the animated donuts, as this “ad” (hopefully a sneak peak at the official vid) for Janelle Monaé‘s “Oh Maker” (after the jump) demonstrates.
