Method Man‘s recent 42nd birthday party included typical b-day affairs such as a cake and close friends. But for Meth, a special occasion means playing a show at The Key Club in Hollywood. He brought out the homie Redman to perform a wild version of “Da Rockwilder” and followed that up with “Wu Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthin Ta Fuck Wit.” If that wasn’t enough, he spoke briefly on an upcoming Wu- Tang Clan album.

It’s a well known fact that Black Thought knows just about every lyric every relevant rapper has ever spit (only a slight exaggeration). Before last night’s airing of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, he proved this once again as he teamed with Method Man to form a two-man version of the Voltron-like force that is Wu-Tang. Watch Mr. Mef and Black spit verses back and forth off the Wu’s breakout first single “Protect Ya Neck” (with The Roots Crew backing them up). I’m a Wu head for life, so in 2013 and beyond the idea of solo albums from any members out the Clan still excites me. In this interview with Montreality, Method Man speaks on his forthcoming 5th studio album, Crystal Meth. As far as when we can expect it, “I’m doin it at my own pace, which is slow as shit” – so don’t expect a release date in the immediate future. Mr. Mef also gets into the possibilities of a new Wu album, working with both Biggie and Tupac, his desire to work with Burt Bacharach and Garrett Morris (aka Stan from Martin), How High 2, and much more. Mef is clearly on that good good, but still a fairly in-depth interview, check it out below.

We’ve been getting bombed with these Iron Fists leaks the last couple weeks (definitely a good thing), and finally we were blessed with the full stream of the LP today, now for the visuals. The leak that started ‘em all “Built For This,” just got an official video. Method Man x Freddie Gibbs x Streetlife…. it’s comical when clowns say Mef ain’t got it no more. Video directed by DanTheMan. The Man with the Iron Fists sdtk will be out October 22nd, with the film dropping November 2nd.

Yeah, I’ma say this collabo is just as amazing as the title line would lead you to believe. Listen to Mef, Gibbs and Streetlife go in over Frank Dukes‘ production for “Built For This” (music by The Revelations).  Initially I just had The Man With The Iron Fists November 2nd release date locked in my head, but a few more collabs like this and I’ll equally be anticipating the soundtrack (October 23rd). Other features on the album will include Wu-Tang Clan, Kanye West, The Black Keys, Corrine Bailey Rae, Pusha T, and more.

The show was at the Zenith de Paris with Streetlife and DJ Mathematics. The opening act is called Ming8 Hall Stars (Minguette/ming8 is one of the toughest ghettos in Lyon) and they put the Paris crowd on fire, which is not that easy. Followed by 1995 Posse (from Paris and suburbs) which is the new hip-hop phenomenon in France. They were as important as Meth for this concert…kind of OFWGKTA in terms of fans everywhere but musically these are more youngsters putting back the ‘boom bap’ on the map (that is why they call themselves 1995)…and for Method Man I don t think you need infos…he was a monster on stage (stagebeast) as usual!

The RZArector speaks to GWHH about the projects he has upcoming after the conclusion of the current Wu Tang Clan tour, which apparently include a new collaborative LP with Method Man. Mostly though he is just “rocking with these movies, having fun” and does not seem to be actively pursuing production work, although he mentions that he has 500 beats at the crib and his “door is always open” (NaS and Busta Rhymes are both namechecked as artists who have taken advantage of that situation recently). As far as “these movies” go, they appear to include roles in G.I. Joe II, Californication and of course The Man With The Iron Fists.

As part of Red Bull Music Academy’s ongoing Five Out of Five event series, some key members of the Wu-Tang Clan; Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Masta Killa and Inspectah Deck (ODB was there only in spiritual essence) sat down with an audience in their home-borough of Staten Island to discuss the seminal LP Enter the 36 Chambers–and then put the capital W back in their live shoW.
