Following the more unfortunate news that Kid Cudi‘s forthcoming LP INDICUD has leaked, Cudi has decided to take the news in stride – recently tweeting his support for the unreleased material floating around the internet as the track “Solo Dolo Pt. II” featuring Kendrick Lamar begins to pick up steam. The organ-dense track produced by Cudi is a hard hitting, hard spitting joint that has the rapper coming for necks and his Compton compatriot coming off the bench to seal the deal. They killed this joint. Cudi has reportedly referred to INDICUD as his version of Dr. Dre’s 1992 LP The Chronic. Considering the powerful impact of that new, new Cudi it seems the rapper’s estimations may not be too far off. He’s sounding pretty hungry, but you don’t have to take my word for it. Kid Cudi preps fans for his forthcoming LP INDICUD with a behind-the-scenes look at his life as a musician through an interesting set of lenses. Cudi teamed with Illroots and Uzi to drop a handful of VHS footage this week. Broadcasting live from Hollywood, California the videos feature the rapper talking about his new song “Immortal” and the aforementioned album, a bit of commentary on his super-powers and people going absolutely ape at the sight of him after a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live as he stormed the lot to sign autographs and take pictures with fans – one of whom really loved his shoes. Following the recent announcement that Kid Cudi would be leaving G.O.O.D. Music to focus on his Wicked Awesome record label, the rapper appeared on L.A.’s Power 106 to elaborate on the recent developments with Rikki Martinez of Big Boy’s Neighborhood. While G.O.O.D. Music issued a very curt statement of support with regard to the matter, Cudi dives in. He discusses the evolution of the label and his eventual plans to use the Wicked Awesome brand as an umbrella for other artistic endeavors and productions. Wicked Awesome‘s mission is to bring authenticity back to the forefront – real content and real emotion – in order to open hip-hop up to more realism and a useful level of human authenticity that will reach and inspire the general populace instead of just a minority of bottle poppers. Kid Cudi recently shocked fans with the news that he has ended his affiliation with G.O.O.D. Music – the label full of heavyweights headed by Kanye West. Cudi’s exit comes not as the result of bad blood but in the interest of focusing more time and energy on his own imprint, Wicked Awesome Records. The announcement came during a recent radio interview to discuss his latest LP INDICUD with L.A.’s Power 106. The news follows speculation fueled by the obvious lack of G.O.O.D. Music artists on the tracklisting for his forthcoming album. At air time the announcement was still hot enough off the presses that even Cudi’s labelmates had not been briefed on his exit. Kid Cudi assures fans that Kanye West is understanding of the decision as they both venture into new territory. Along with the change comes news that Cudi has formed a new band called 2 Be Continuum. Kid Cudi debuted the song “Mad Solar” with an impromptu a capella performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The casual premiere dropped to great crowd response before Cudi jumped into a more formal performance of his first single “Immortal” from his forthcoming LP INDICUD. Upping the ante, he follows a great late-night television reception with the official tracklisting and artwork for the album. This will be his first release since The Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager was released in 2010. The 18-track project boasts appearances from King Chip, Kendrick Lamar and Too $hort. INDICUD is scheduled to drop on April 23rd.

Last night in Austin, Kid Cudi broke some news during his set at the MySpace Secret show (which also featured Hit-Boy and Diplo). Apparently his upcoming LP, Indicud,  will have features from  RZA, Kendrick Lamar, Too $hort, A$AP Rocky, and umm Michael Bolton (seriously). That last feature aside, it appears Cudi is back on some rapper shit. We’re given more proof of this by the new verse off the album he spits, below. Kid Cudi popped up on The Cleveland Show just days after releasing “Immortal” – the first single from his upcoming LP INDICUD. Cudi played the character of Devon, Roberta’s new super-wholesome love interest who stepped in to give Rallo a little tough love parenting while Donna was on the crapper. After all, it takes a village to correct the bad viewing habits of a child with no bedtime and a thing for Breaking Bad. Hm–does this mean That Wizard Cud is now a member of hip-hop’s illuminati inner circle, alongside ?uestlove, Nicki Minaj and Will.I.Am?

This is the best Kid Cudi song I’ve heard in a minute. And going by the song title it sounds like he won’t be going anywhere anytime soon, so I’m glad the last few leaks have been trending in the right direction. Cudi’s next LP, Indicud, is set to drop April 23rd.
