As I mentioned, Chance The Rapper definitely regained my attention with the release of his vey dope introspective single “Acid Rain.” He does nothing to change that with his latest video, the aptly titled  ”Good Ass Intro.” Watch ana nimated CTR dance the streets of the Chi in the OJ Hays and Andrew Straw directed video. “Good Ass Intro” features production from Peter Cottontale and Stefan Ponce with vocals from B.J. The Chicago Kid. As you’d guess it’s the intro track on Chance’s tape, Acid Rap, set to drop in April.

We’ve long since been fans of B.J. The Chicago Kid, and the release of his 2012 project, Pineapple Now-Laters only boosted that fandom. Now working on his Motown debut album, B.J. decided to bless the fans with something via this new track, “Honey.” B!nk chops up some classic Tom Brock while B.J. starts out with a “Rock The Boat” interpolation and fittingly right into some “Love You Inside Out.” Though the elements may seem all over the place, the sound is unmistakably B.J. (and threfore dope).

Thurz and B.J. The Chicago Kid yet again hook up on the collab tip, and I’d say they’re 3/3 so far. So with the latest set of visuals from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib we get a triple feature. We start off with a Shame EP bonus beat, “Later That Night,” then a minute and change of their collabo joint “Terrorist,” then we get into their walk of shame anthem and EP title track. “Thuggin’” is certainly my favorite joint from these two, but you’ve gotta appreciate Gibbs’ cold flow brought together by Madlib’s buttery production and B.J. Following up on their hard 2011 collabo EP, Thuggin, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib just dropped their latest EP, Shame via ‘Lib’s Invazion imprint. Like the last EP, this one features two vocal tracks while the rest of the EP is rounded out by bonus beats, acapella’s and instrumentals. Before you purchase the product, you can take a listen to the title track featuring BJ The Chicago Kid – “It ain’t gotta be the walk of shame, but that’s only if you know the game” BJ comes through with that REAL ass chorus (hilarious). The duo’s as-of-yet untitled LP is set to drop in the third quarter. Shame is out now (cop it at ST).

Yes, that special day has come around once again, so I say happy holidays to all my fellow stoners. I’m not about to make 30 posts today about weed rap, so I’ve compiled the 4/20 post with some of the better 4/20 themed music that dropped today. We’ve got some fresh new greenery from Sean Price, Snoop Dogg, Curren$y, Co$$, Irv Da Phenom, Blaze Burna w/ Devin The Dude and Smoke DZA. It’s deeper than rap though, also got a soulful  bud break from BJ The Chicago Kid, some trippy piffery from Flosstradamus, and the essential 4/20 kit from Strong Arm Steady and Dearly Departed. Every time I attempt to hit publish on this some more cannabis related content drops. So if you’re lighting up with me right now, you should be about done by the time you hit the bottom of this post.
