DNC: Swagger Like Barack
No one on the corner has swagger like Barack, heh. Yeah, we know it was last week but this is how we are going to kick things off after the long Labor Day weekend, by reminding the collective OkayConscious that last Thursday, Barack Obama spoke to an audience of 84,000 at Mile High Stadium in Denver, CO for the biggest event of his service thus far (with much more to come). If you still didn't catch it, we have the official piece from the Obama camp below, including some pre-speech backstage shots. For a minute there I thought dude was going to bring out Jay-Z. Also seen here are a few exclusive snaps from that day by our boy
Jay Esposito (bonus points for anyone who can name all the celebrities in his last photo! Rosario, we see you). Lastly, the big news following the DNC was McCain's announcement of his running mate, the virtually unknown Governor of Alasak, Sarah Palin. For your knowledge, we've included some info on her below as well, care of MoveOn.
photos by Jay Esposito. ![]() ![]() ![]() Yesterday was John McCain's 72nd birthday. If elected, he'd be the oldest president ever inaugurated. And after months of slamming Barack Obama for "inexperience," here's who John McCain has chosen to be one heartbeat away from the presidency: a right-wing religious conservative with no foreign policy experience, who until recently was mayor of a town of 9,000 people. Huh? Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background: • She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.(1) • Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.(2) • She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.(3) • Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.(4) • She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.(5) • She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.(6) • How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.(7) Sources: 1. FUCK THE OTHER CANDIDATES!!!! i hate people that think like that, if it were up to me, Ralph Nader would have been president a LOOOOOONG time ago, but sadly it doesn't work that way.
99.9% of the time it is either a democrat or republican. Voting for another candidate is a vote for McCain. Holy shit, didn't you mother fuckers learn your lesson in the 2000 election!?!?!?!?!? VOTE FOR OBAMA YOU DUMB FUCKS!!!! HE IS THE CLOSEST THING TO WHO EVER THE FUCK IT IS YOU WANT TO VOTE FOR. If McCain wins this election, the ones to blame are all the dumb fucks who voted for somebody who is CLEARLY not going to win, and for all the retarted feminists who are voting for McCain only because he chose Palin as his VP and she happens to have a vagina. The United States of America: Smart Bombs, Stupid People. VOTE OBAMA!!!!! 3

Very nice post, and pictures.
But I have to say, coming from a huge obama supporter myself, the whole Palin wanting to teach creationism bullet point is saddening. Not because those are her views, but because of the way the information is represented. I clicked your source, and she explains herself very well. She says that it should be taught as a PHILOSOPHY course. I respect the work because it helps Obama, but lets not stoop to that low. Now if your response to this is "I only said she wanted it to be taught in schools," then you are answering the complaint by playing with words. The intent of that sentence is to make the reader believe that she wants students to believe in it. This is the type of media misleading tactics we are trying to FIGHT, not use. I love Obama I totally disreguard the creationism theory. I HATE misleading media tactics. BE REAL 9

Black Betty: ...
After this comment, I SWEAR i'm taking a break from this political shit! But having said that, yeah... Barack rocked the house, with 60% sincerity even. Which, by political standards, is quite high (cause I don't care who you are or what color your skin is, a politician is a politician). This is an open and shut case. If the people put McCain in office, it should be clearer than ever, the kind of muck of a government we LET run our freakin lives.
